Belvedere School Council & Belvedere Parent Society
Making the Distinction
School councils and parent societies provide two separate and distinct contexts for parent and community involvement in the school.
School Councils provide a means for parents and community to work together with administration and staff to promote the well-being and overall effectiveness of the school community. Its main role is advisory.
Parent Societies provide a means for parents and community members to provide additional financial resources and support to the school. Its main role is fundraising.
The Belvedere Parent Council and the Belvedere Parent Society meet monthly throughout the school year. These informative meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the school staffroom. Child care is available with a simple dinner provided.
